Some of the challenges you face didn't begin with you; they’re deeper than that. None of us chose our family or background. The reason you were born in a poor family is because God ordained you to change it.
Acts 3:1–8 (KJV)
1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;
3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
Ask yourself today — Do you have an hour for prayer?
In this text, we see people committed to prayer. They were disciplined in seeking God. Every disability, every spiritual limitation in your life is about to change today in the name of Jesus!
Think of your journey the same school, the same teacher, the same material yet only you failed. That’s a disability, not physical but spiritual. You hear every kind of gossip, except the good news about Jesus and breakthrough. But today, you are being released because you are a leader!
In this passage, the man was carried daily. Some people love to be carried — in everything they do. They depend on others so much that they can’t move on their own. That’s why you fall out with relatives — you ask for help too often. But remember: if people carry you today, they can leave you tomorrow.
When you meet a man of God, don’t ask for money; ask for prayer. Peter could have given that man money, but he gave him something greater — he lifted him up in the name of Jesus.
You need more than clothes or food; you need a divine lift that will empower you to walk on your own.
In verse 8, it says, “And he leaping up stood, and walked.” That was the first time in his life — declare it over yourself today: I will stand!
Don’t remain seated in your situation. When God blesses you, rise up and go to church like that man — walking and leaping, praising God.
Those who were ahead of you when you were down will soon see you stride past them.
There’s another story of a man who told Jesus, “I have no one to put me into the pool.” After today, your days of relying on others are coming to an end. You are rising to walk by faith — in the power of Jesus Christ!
