I came to Gweru in 2021 and was unemployed.
I applied for several vacancies, but all my applications were rejected, and this discouraged me from applying further. Around August 2021, I received a call from an unfamiliar number asking if I had recently applied for a job. We had a minor misunderstanding because I genuinely didn’t remember submitting any recent application—it had been a long time since I had given up on applying for jobs.

Later, another caller phoned and clarified that there was indeed a vacancy and that they were holding my CV—something I honestly couldn’t remember submitting. I went to their office, not formally dressed or prepared in any way. My intention was simply to prove to them that I had never applied for that job. However, when I arrived, they confirmed that they wanted to offer me the job because my CV was the only one outstanding at that time.

I started working there towards the end of 2021, but deep down I felt that this was not enough. I sensed it was time to grow. There were certain qualifications I wanted to add to my CV, so from the time I started working, I began doing registrations and working towards them.

In January 2023, during our season of prayer and fasting, my immediate superior resigned.
I was appointed as Acting Assistant in a position that was five grades above my level. On the 11th day of the fast, there was a prayer point about favour, and I earnestly prayed for favour upon my life.

Three days later, on a Monday, the position I was acting in was advertised. I didn’t apply because I didn’t see myself as worthy or qualified enough. A day before the advert closed, my superior asked why I hadn’t submitted my CV, but I just gave an excuse. Eventually, I put together a simple CV and attended the interview.

The grace and favour of God located me.
I was offered the position—something I had even doubted myself because of the experience and qualifications of other applicants. But God made it possible.
